Practicing To Win

One of the things that golfers do not understand is that they take the wrong approach during their rounds. Instead of trying to play against the course, they play against their opponent. While this is acceptable in match play, it does not help golfers who are just trying to improve. It is important to remember that:

“Forget your opponents; always play against par.” ~Sam Snead

By doing this, golfers can practice with the intention of improving their score, not just beating an opponent. This will allow them to use golf training aids like a golf alignment mat, a birdie ball, and even a golf putting green in the backyard to simulate a round of golf. By improving in this manner, they will get the mindset that it is the course, not the opponent in which they are trying to beat. Using golf mats, and other training aids can allow golfers to simulate rounds and will ultimately help improve their mindset and approach.

Getting a Straighter Shot

One of the most difficult things for many golfers to do is to eliminate a slice or a hook consistently. One of the best ways to do this is to use a golf alignment mat. By using one of these golf mats, it will become easier to eliminate the nuisance that a flaw in a shot can be.

“I have a hook. It nauseated me. I could vomit when I see one. It’s like a rattlesnake in your pocket.” -Ben Hogan

By taking time to practice with a golf practice mat, and with golf practice balls that simulate real flight patterns, your shot will likely improve. If putting also concerns you, a golf putting green is a great way to improve that stroke.
