Learning To Stay Straight

The only way to keep a consistent swing is to practice as often as possible in order to get a more consistent stroke.  By practicing in your backyard with a golf mat, a golf putting green, and some limited flight balls, your game and swing will improve.

“I’d play every day if I could.  It’s cheaper than a shrink and there are no telephones on my golf cart.”  ~Brent Musburger

While some people would like to get out on a course and play daily, it is often more important to try to take some swings with each club everyday to keep your stroke.  This will keep inconsistency out of your game and will assure you a better chance at success.  By trying to practice with golf alignment mats and even a golf chipping mat, all aspects of your game can stay as consistent as possible.

Individualize Practice

Practice too often becomes something that only is done because it has to be done.  It can be very monotonous, and because of this it does not help most golfers as it should.  By simply going on the range and spending a certain amount of time with each club, it is difficult to adjust to tendencies that may be showing on the course.  It would, however, be much wiser to use golf mats and even a putting green in the backyard in order to be able to individualize each practice session you have in accordance to your results from the last round.  If you were not striking the ball well with your irons, practice with them for a longer amount of time, or if putting has been your inconsistency, then get on a putting green.  It may seem simple, but it really can make a difference.

“If I hit it right, it’s a slice.  If I hit it left, it’s a hook.  If I hit it straight, it’s a miracle.”  ~Author Unknown

By getting a feel for each club and then being able to maintain that feel throughout a round, your game will improve.  By practicing enough to keep the feel you already have with a golf hitting mat, or a golf pitching mat, and then spending time on a golf alignment mat for irons or other things that may be a problem, your game will improve significantly.  Not only does a putting green help, but aids like limited flight balls also are useful for this type of individualization of practice.
