Practicing To Win

One of the things that golfers do not understand is that they take the wrong approach during their rounds. Instead of trying to play against the course, they play against their opponent. While this is acceptable in match play, it does not help golfers who are just trying to improve. It is important to remember that:

“Forget your opponents; always play against par.” ~Sam Snead

By doing this, golfers can practice with the intention of improving their score, not just beating an opponent. This will allow them to use golf training aids like a golf alignment mat, a birdie ball, and even a golf putting green in the backyard to simulate a round of golf. By improving in this manner, they will get the mindset that it is the course, not the opponent in which they are trying to beat. Using golf mats, and other training aids can allow golfers to simulate rounds and will ultimately help improve their mindset and approach.
